PROJECTS
Minecraft
During the pandemic my daughter and I set up a Minecraft server to connect children together in a time of uncertainty. This was mainly aimed at neurodivergent and home educated children however it has grown and we now offer 1-2-1 sessions, events, moderated play times, Quiet sessions.
This project gained National Lottery support and is a project under Think Cre8tive Group CIC.
Kiddiconcert
I am inspired to show children and parents how singing or learning an instrument can be fun! With some funding from Horbury I was able to put on a Kiddiconcert to inspire a new generation to add music in their lives. We played, we sang, we improvised, we danced and moved and the children also got to have a go on a few of the instruments. See more below.
Museum of the Moon
Working with men from Reflections House in Castleford was one of the proudest moments of my life. This was the first time I had ever worked with men in recovery and they made it so much fun. I was blown away with their creativity, willingness to try anything and their final performance at the community music night at Museum of the Moon in Wakefield. I was incredibly proud of them. You can read more about it in my blog.
Culture Cures
This was my very first community project in Wakefield. Using my knowledge and experience of the Arts and music I gathered a team of other artists to help deliver some fantastic projects in areas of Wakefield. Intergenerational Music, a Vegetable Orchestra and Junk Music! You can read about them in my blog.

Stand By Me
I am hugely supportive of spreading awareness of mental health issues and the song Stand By Me speaks volumes to me personally. As we couldn't meet face-to-face during COVID Iasked a few fellow women if they would like to sing an acapella version for Mental Health Awareness day - thankfully they agreed.
This wasn't easy getting them to record themselves, whilst listening to my recordings and then me trying to edit all the parts together. Anyway I think we achieved a great result and they sound amazing!
